Peace Boat 74th Global Peace Voyage (2011)
Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment. These activities are carried out on a partnership with Northeast Asia, and around the world. Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a chartered passenger ship that travels the world on peace voyages.
Vacation Singapore welcome Peace Boat 74th Voyage on 29 July 2011.
On this voyage, we also welcome 49 Junior High School students from Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture. The youth ambassadors are from 6 different schools in Minamisoma (20-40 km from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant). The students spent 2 weeks voyage in a healthy, dynamic and creative environment, where they can learn new skills, enjoy new experiences and gain a fresh perspective on the future, while enabling their parents to focus on rebuilding their community. The students visited Sentosa Island, had a river cruise along the Singapore River and Clarke Quay, and had a taste of Singapore’s famous chicken rice.
